"An exodus is a grand departure or escape of spiritual importance comprising of flight from persecution, loss, suffering, the past, or slavery, resulting in a journey to a place of holy sanctuary, guided by God." From the creative mind of author Jason R Jones, the epic fantasy begins with "The Exodus, of spiders and falcons". The Exodus Sagas take place in a time of great struggle and turmoil, spiritually, religiously, politically, and nationally throughout the continent of Agara. The first of eighteen novels in the series, "of spiders and falcons" brings together by fate, five heroic companions from varied walks of life. Through their persecution by ruthless and memorable villains and corrupt organizations, they find strength in each other and themselves against overwhelming odds and personal demons.

The Exodus Of Spiders and Falcons Jason R Jones Books Reviews

I bought this on a whim in a small bookstore in SW Florida because the author was also local - Turns out it was a great decision. A richly wrought fantasy with multiple plot lines and a driving pace, Of Spiders and Falcons deserves a much larger audience. Wretched and devious villains (don't get too attached to all the characters) square off with flawed and complex heroes in a detailed and vivid world. Each of the characters has a story to tell, as does Mr. Jones himself, and apparently he's got a lot of story to tell based on how epic this series is designed to be. Two wishes for the new year
1. Publishing houses take a good, long look at this effort and,
2. Book 2 comes out soon...
Give this book a shot. It's worth it.
I don't normally write reviews. However after wasting my time and money, mostly because I was influenced by a highly rated and completely inaccurate review of this book, I feel compelled to let the truth be known.

From the inexhaustible filler, to the flat and stereotypical characters, to the attempt at a typical plot and did I mention the filler - this writing appears to be nothing more than the immature product of someone who has read fantasies, and in his own incapable manner, attempted to write something similar. Chase and fight, chase and fight, over and over again always accompanied with unrealistic absurdities - juvenile at best.

Upon reflection, the good review which wrongly influenced me (including its blatant sales pitches) was probably written by the author or a friend. The book is an excruciatingly dull, mind numbing, amateurish write by someone who will be keeping his day job.

Don't waste your time or money.
Wish to Hek Reviews The Exodus of Spiders and Falcons

Jason R. Jones has not written a tale of sword and sorcery with monsters and heroes in a fight to see who will rule the universe by gaining control of a magical ring/sword/tablet.
Jason R. Jones has written a quite intricate tale of corrupted governments, disgraced heroes, lost loved ones, and vows to be fulfilled.
If you have ever wished for a story that brings such great depth to the characters and cities in the age of swords and sorcery, than The Exodus of Spiders and Falcons is the book for you.
Spiders and Falcons is the first in Jason's eighteen part epic that follows five heroes of differing walks of life as they band together and learn to trust one another as they set out to accomplish varied tasks and vows promised.
The story is filled with rich characters wizards, elves, minotaurs, dwarves, and knights. Oh, great, Lord of the Rings, Part Whatever, right? Wrong. The Exodus does not try to be another LOR but does indeed give you great characters to root for. My three favorites being Saberrak the Grey, a minotaur born into slavery and hunted for that purpose, Shinayne T'Sarrin, an elven princess searching for a lost love, and Kendari,a cursed elf, who has been hired to kill the five heroes and retrieve a scroll with secrets that many would die to understand. Saberrak reminds me of Chewbacca with better speech and a worse attitude. Shinayne is the tough and dangetrous princess who can outkill the bad guys better than a slew of human soldiers. Kendari, the best villain of the book is an outstanding killer as well and is involved in several well choreographed sword fights. Sorry if you hate this reference but he is the Darth Maul of the piece, scary and deadly, but, luckily, doesn't die at the end.
The cities and kingdoms in The Exodus are painstakingly detailed and full of life, history, and, at best, corruption from the inside out. Southwind Keep and Valhirst are two of those locations. Southwind in filled with orphan families and ruled by a brother and sister who lost their father, the king, to an army of ogres. While Alexei seems to be noble, his sister, Kaya, is[...] dangerous [...]with ties to a criminal organization known as the White Spider. Valhirst is ruled by another dangerous individual, Prince Johnas, the ruler of the White Spider organization.
Jason has created a continent (I can't say universe yet, but maybe within another book or two) of memorable characters, kingdoms, histories, and magics. He even has included a nice glossary at the end for quick reviews on each of these.
At its core, The Exodus of Spiders and Falcons is a fantastic tale of redemption and trust for our five heroes and is filled with amazing sword fights and magical battles over land and sea, cities, swamps, and countryside.
My only wish for The Exodus series is that the second book comes out soon!
The Exodus of Spiders and Falcons is available at many bookstores and for your e-readers as well.
